"Daddy, Daddy, look at me!"

I first heard the title of this blog entry when I was watching a commercial on television. In this commercial was a little girl who was dancing while her Dad was videotaping her. While she was dancing she kept saying, "Daddy, Daddy, look at me!" This commercial was just a commercial until I noticed my daughter, 3 years old, and son, 2 years old, beginning to say the same thing, "Daddy, Daddy, look at me!" It was in that moment where just those 5 little words spoke to me so deeply and profoundly. You see, our children desperately want and absolutely need our attention as they grow up. Now I know as Dads we are so busy trying to make it happen for our families by going out into the world each and everyday pounding the pavement. I am no different from the rest of us but one thing that I have found to be certain; YOU CAN'T BUY BACK TIME! You really can't. Once it's gone, it's gone.
